Dell Power Vault NX3230 storage:

The Dell PowerVault NX3230 supports up to 12 3.5-inch drives and has a maximum capacity of 72 TB when configured with 6 TB HDDs.

It supports 1.2 TB SAS, NL-SAS and SATA drive at 10,000 rpm and 15,000 rpm; and 2 TB, 4 TB, and 6 TB NL-SAS drive at 7,200 rpm.

The array supports internal expansion using the Dell PowerVault, EqualLogic and Compellent series of controllers and arrays.

Operating system (OS) HDDs for the NX3230 are always configured to RAID 1.

Data drives can be configured as RAID 5 or RAID 6 in the factory, and the internal PERC H730 controller supports additional configurations.

The NX3230 array can be configured with either a four- or six-core Intel Xeon processor and has a 2U form-factor rack-mount system

The PowerVault NX Series includes Dell OpenManage software for storage management and supports data protection features such as replication through the Distributed File System Replication technology, and snapshots through the Volume Snapshot Service technology.

 All Dell PowerVault NX series products run Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 Standard Edition.



HPE StoreEasy  1850:


The HPE StoreEasy 1850 has 25 2.5-inch drive slots.

It has an internal capacity of 27.6 TB when running SAS HDDs or 23 TB when running SATA HDDs.

 It also supports flash-based solid-state drives in capacities of 200 GB, 300 GB, 400 GB, 600 GB, 800 GB and 1.6 TB.

 It has a maximum capacity of 2.327 PB and accepts up to 586 HDDs for external expansion.

The array has two 300 GB HDDs in RAID 1 with the OS pre-installed and runs on a quad-core Intel Xeon E5-2609 v2 processor and 16 GB of memory.

The HPE StoreEasy 1850 Storage family of products does not support self-encrypting drives. Instead, they support BitLocker Drive Encryption and encrypted file systems.

Windows Server's Dynamic Access Control feature -- a policy-based authentication and security service -- is also supported.

Each HPE StoreEasy 1850 Storage model comes with a range of software and storage management tools.

The pre-installed  Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 Standard Edition OS includes features such as data deduplication, Volume Shadow Copy Service and distributed file system replication.

Users can purchase additional software bundles such as HPE Data Protector Software, which is an enterprise data protection and disaster recovery solution.

 HPE LiveVault, data security software that encrypts critical data and backs it up to a cloud grid on HPE data centers, can also be purchased separately.
